Visualization Toolset (Virtual Crash --> Houdini)
While working at Forensic Rock, I developed a procedural pipeline to extract data from the Virtual Crash software and incorporate it into Houdini to position the site point cloud and the animations of the vehicles. When the previz is created using Virtual Crash to represent the accident collision incident, the movement of the vehicles and the point clouds used to represent the scene have spreadsheet data that can be imported into Houdini and used to accurately represent the location and movement from Virtual Crash.
This preloaded toolset is compiled as a recipe in Houdini, and this workflow can set up assets to be imported and compiled in Unreal Engine 5. Currently in our production process, this is just one of the stages, with an Unreal Engine 5 pipeline following this one.
The Site Setup:
Point Clouds are imported with position data that correlates with their position in Virtual Crash
Includes a retopology process with preset nodes for setting up vertex painting
Includes a preset process for setting up the final result as a heightmap to be exported
The Vehicle Animation Setup:
The vehicle animation workflow incorporates a simple visualizer that represents the position of the vehicle over time, accurately representing the velocity and location of the vehicle(s) in Virtual Crash
A procedural cleanup process is integrated to optimize the vehicles with consistent naming conventions, fixed normals, automated uvs for textures, etc.
Also includes integration of a physics simulation to simulate realistic deformations of the vehicles during collision

Visualization Toolset (Unreal Engine Compile)
At Forensic Rock, I developed unique blueprints as well as visualization workflows to produce immersive, realistic, and accurate representations of vehicle collision incidents. This is an example of a blueprint that takes motion data from Virtual Crash and converts it to data that can be used to animate vehicles in Unreal Engine 5. This tool also features the ability to:
toggle head/brake lights
display a spline curve to visualize the motion of the vehicle
the ability to convert the motion to keyframes for the sequencer for rendering, among several other features.
